Christmas stockings

Note to self: gorgeous new, black, hold-up stockings kept in a drawer for special occasions need to be handled with care. Smooth any rough nail edges before putting on as an early Christmas gift for Mr Doris. Just a tiny nick, and a thread pulled, means that they are no longer perfect for public wear. Oh well!

We have the Jack Vettriano picture to the right, "Back where you belong", framed on the wall in our bedroom. (According to Feng Shui it is in our relationship corner.) I love the way the man has his hand right round the woman's waist; the way she, too, is so delighted to see him again, she has jumped up and flung her arms around his neck; the way, in that moment in time, he is supporting her weight; the way both her feet are up in the air; the way he has a sweet bunch of flowers in his hand ready to give her; the way their lips and pelvis's are locked together. I love everything about this picture.

And yes, there is a smile on my face and a rosy glow in my cheeks.

It's a pretty looking picture, but I'm not sure it's physically possible. Insufficient upthrust to counter her weight. He really needs to have his hands on her bottom.

As well there should be! And on lucky Mr. Doris's cheeks as well!

Merry Christmas to you both...

Gorilla Bananas Glad you find the pic pretty but I dispute your analysis. I believe it is physically possible because it is just a moment in time as her legs are probably up maybe five seconds and to get into that position you have the combined upthrust forces of excitement and love propelling her. And anyway, her arms are firmly round his neck holding on, the lever of her knees on his thighs ensures a cantilever effect, and his right arm (holding the flowers) is firmly under her left armpit. His back is straight and slightly tilted back providing enough strength to support her. He could even be a fireman returning on leave but I digress.

I am sure that his hands on her botty might help, or be desirable, but perhaps not acceptable in public and lead to loose morals and whatnots?

Alan ;-) And a fabulous Christmas to you dear Alan!

I think someone once told me to wet my fingers with water before pulling up super sheer stockings...;-)

I love the Vettriano pic. Reminds me of the St Pancras statue...

I love that piece too, it's beautiful visually and sentimentally, unfortunately my hormones are so flucky I can't remember the last time I felt like that, dang it.

And WHY did no one tell us about this stocking information up there? Gads, you'd think someone would have told us before know. That Jo, she's full of great information!

xx

Awww Fineartist may the juicy hormones of love flow your way this Christmas :-) (But I know what you mean!)

I'm with you on this stockings information. I obviously don't read enough girly information magazines! ;-)

Jo - I can't wait to see that St Pancras statue :-) Thank you as ever for helping me to become more girly with your useful tips! (tips - wet finger tips - geddit?!) LOL

Thursdayschild Glad you like the pic too. I still can't get onto that voting site as I so want to vote for your amazing photography. But I guess there isn't a deadline just yet so the New Year will be OK once they have fixed it.
