Dumplings
Last night I made beef stew and dumplings. This is the first time I have probably made dumplings and they were, er, most interesting. They fluffed up and filled the tum and worked well as seconds for lunch today. An interesting achievement. :-)
Yay Doris is back. Yay!!!! Putting you back on my blogroll thingy right away...now make sure you don't switch the thingy off at your end, or whatever it is!!!
In some ways Anji, I'd think they'd go better with a chicken casserole assuming the sauce/soup part is more fluid than my beef stew with too much barley and broth mix! I just don't seem to be able to get that balance right.
I'm in my mid fifties and love Mr Doris, food, love, people and quirky things. We live in the North West of England. We have two grown up children.
The ghosts of my childhood pop in on occasion. I am still growing and developing, experimenting with this and that, reflecting on this or that.

I haven't made dumplings for years. Good idea! I was planning chicken casserole this weekend, I think that they can go with that.

"Interesting", when referring to dumplings, can hold a multitude of concepts/
