Ring-a-Ring of Roses

What better when your house has been polished, the work is on hold and our guests say they will be later than we expect, than to play on the blogs.

I've been thinking of this for a while... I'm going to start with a random blog from my Blogroll (is that word in the dictionary yet?) and then hop from bogroll to blogroll back to me! On your marks, get set.....

Cheryl at Mad Baggage was Michele Agnew's Site of the Day yesterday. Well deserved but also surprising since Cheryl can be quite outspoken at times and could ruffle the occasional feather ;-) From Cheryl I hop to....

Omaha Poet with a Face Full of Metal! - a blog I have never visited before. He moved house in July and writes poetry including " In Praise of the Other men". I am at once stumped as he doesn't have a blogroll so I am going through the link of one of his visitors to....

Terry at The rants & raves of Terry Johnston where there is a cute, but he calls it artsy, black and white picture of Terry snoozing on a bed! Goodness knows what else is on his blog or any of these others but I zip to his blog roll to next see....

Katie of Passing Obsessions. Oh dear, looks like she is into porn but of the geek variety: Macs, iPods and similar! I'm in deep water now and not recognising anyone on the blogrolls. It is a case of eeny meeny miney mo to....

Kish at My Venting Place.... She started her blog in August 2004 but in May 2005 decided to delete most of her posts and start again as she wanted to make a fresh start. Another non-blog roller I've gone for a random commenteer....

Nik at I'm going slightly mad! Which is what I must be if I don't start to find any links home! Nik has recently had her car totalled but the insurance company are thankfully paying up. Our car was totalled earlier this year so I know what that feels like. From here I jump to....

Richard of Musings of eternal life. He recently attended a conference in Orlando where amongst other things were some tiger cubs. He said there was a line to see them which I'm not surprised if the photos are anything to go by! One of his commenteers is....

Libélula of Libélula who I have to comment looks gorgeous! She frequents bookshops in New York and writes the occasional post in Spanish. On her blogroll is....

Dino of Blogworkorange. All in Spanish but he has a nice picture of Mars on his latest post, and an eclectic mix of pictures so I reckon he must be talking about some interesting stuff. Continuing my South American mini tour I'm off to....

Giselle of BLO' de 8 where she has some little video or animated photography. Interesting to look at I didn't want to miss this blog in order to try and find my way to a blog I knew. I might be coming to a dead-end. Onwards to....

Jean of ....?..... He writes in English and Spanish too, about love and life. Leaping from there to....

PostSecret PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail-in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. This is a bizarre collection of odd-ball postcards that have been doctored. One has a cute little drawing of a naked woman sitting on a large armchair stretching her arms high up in the air in satisfied pleasure. The words say:

Sometimes I cancel all of my appointments in a day. Tell everyone I'm sick... and pleasure myself all day. I have so much fun - I'm exhausted - almost paralysed by pleasure. The next day... I go back to work.
Weird :-)

NB. Copyright on the site says I can use one pic to link back!

And that ends my journey. There are no links on PostSecret. No comments. Perhaps it is the end of the internet?

I didn't manage to do what I set out to achieve, but it was worth it to get to that last blog and to see the others in-between! I'll try again another day :-)

I love it when people give me blogs to check out with reviews. Saves me a lot of random search time. Some of the ones you suggested seemed pretty interesting and I’ll check them out further. Thanks!

I find that it is so easy to spend an entire day reading blogs. The lives and thoughts of other people can be so facinating

Most of the blogs I regularly read are from the blogrolls of the folks on my blogroll. You know the person writing is intelligent and interesting and thus their blogroll most likely has some good stuff on it as well. Much better results than those clickthrough traffic exchanges, where most of the blogs were random exercises in making 30 seconds feel like an hour.

That was a great way to introduce your readers to some new blogs!

Neat idea Doris ... will have to try it soon! Especially on one of those days when the writer in me is only capable of short bursts! Like mini reviews such as yours!

It was fun!

Isn't PostSecret fascinating? SOme of it's so tragic, and yet compelling.

Good idea! There used to be a site called Bloghopping or Bloghopper, I don't know if it's still around. Did you mean to say from bogroll to blogroll? It made me smile anyway!

P.S. So Craig is out. I hope Makosi goes next. Poor Eugene is suffering from guilt, and the others are saying that they wouldn't have taken the money - yeah, right!!

Yeah, where were the links back to your site? I checked most of them. Mind you, maybe I haven't really sussed out this blogroll thing yet. I've got it in on my site, like, but haven't a clue how it works. (Like a lot of things on my site!) It is very kind of you to review them and Kilroy's right, it does save a lot of time. But,,, nothing compares 2 u gran, so I think I'll just stay here a little while longer where I feel safe and sound.

since so many folks have linked to it, maybe you could blog-hop in an attempt to find the longest path to post secret.

It's like "six degrees of blogging"! Similarly, I googled my usual screen name once and looked at how many blogs I'd commented on, or linked to me. I found a few I'd forgotten about, and some random strangers who linked me.
